WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE A NATIONAL CAMPAIGN LAND: How we turned a love story into a national headline, and how you can too. Not every

Can you believe its 2024? Looking back on the last year, we’ve seen some wild trends (some good, some interesting) come and go; Tik Tok’s bite-sized videos have ruled Gen Z and cancel culture becoming a reality check. One thing is for sure – staying on top of social media trends and news is essential. We have put together six social media trends to help you stay on top of your digital marketing in 2024.
If you aren’t already using Broadcast Channels on Instagram to connect with your audience, 2024 could be the year to start exploring their potential. Broadcast Channels serve as interactive virtual gathering spaces providing your business with opportunities to strengthen connections within your community. Some ideas of channels could include live masterclasses, Q&A sessions with a celebrity chef and sharing behind-the-scenes action.
Social media isn’t just about posting or getting your content across, it’s about actively connecting with your followers and creating that community feel. Because let’s be real, no one wants to feel like just another number, right? While gaining followers is one of everyone’s goals, establishing a dedicated community is most valuable. So how do I do this you may ask? We call it community management and it’s so much more than just liking tagged posts and comments. Here’s our guide on elevating your community management this year:
Social media users love visibility into your business, a great way to show them this is by tapping into free UGC, giving you a break from relying solely on paid professional photography.
UGC content covers everything from customer reviews, testimonials, tagged photos, videos, inspiration and even blogs! To maximise this awesome ‘free’ content, we recommend including this content into your social media calendar. For example, if you are a hospitality venue, include tagged posts of people into your content calendar to showcase the atmosphere and people having a good time – we find this content performs well and if your customers are in Sydney, well let’s just say they love being seen.
UGC also provides an excellent avenue for storytelling, particularly when seeking to highlight the inspirational journey of a dish from its country of origin or incorporating design influences. Images can be sourced from platforms like Google or Unsplash, with the crucial step of ensuring proper image credits.
Ok ok, AI has been our best friend planning a holiday, writing an email to our landlord or even creating your gym plan but AI is also revolutionising how we engage with social media by gathering information and generating content ideas. Platforms such as Chat GPT can be very resourceful with content creation if used in the right way. Here’s our guide to making the most out of AI platforms to ensure its useful and stays on brand:
Despite what people think about Facebook losing its touch, with a whopping 2.9 billion active users, it’s worth not overlooking in your 2024 social media strategy (after all, the numbers don’t lie). Facebook Reels have seen the biggest growth across the platform allowing you to reach and engage with more people. As competition increases and it becomes harder to organically grow a following base, prioritise reach and engaging content across multiple touch points for more eyes on your business.
Understanding your audience is key to knowing what content should be posted on what platform! We recommend using a social media platform that provides you analytics on your audience demographic and content across different social media channels (we love and use Iconosquare).
It’s beneficial to maintain a consistent brand message and visual identity, however, consider adapting the content slightly to suit each platform and their audience. For example, the age demographic of your audience on Facebook might be slighter older compared to your Instagram page, by tweaking your content to be more appropriate to the age demographic this will result in higher engagement.
